Sound quality

I’m constantly working on my list in order to improve the quality and amount of information. Therefore I’ve started rating the sound quality of the recordings. I use a radius of 1-10 where 10 means excellent. Of course this is subjective but meant to be a guideline. My standards might not be yours. Also notice that this is a general picture. E.g. a 1973 show with a mark of 8 is more special than a 1997 show rated the same. Also, I try to use comments in the notes of each show about the source, cuts etc. Since I’m only human I sometimes forget to list a click or a cut. However, if you need particular info on a show, I’ll be happy to listen it through and provide you with detailed info on the quality.

1. In the bin.

2. Extremely bad.

3. For the die hard collectors.

4. Only audible if you’re in a really good mood.

5. Nice to have but not for regular listening.

6. Just within the boundaries of acceptable and regularly audible.

7. Fairly good recording. Average sound quality in my opinion of traded shows.

8. Very nice quality. Pleasant to listen to.

9. A beautiful thing is a joy forever.

10. Rare.

I use half points when I’m not sure which rate I have to give it.

You will probably notice a lot of torrent download notes on my list. This means I downloaded these in .shn .flac or .ape format. For myself I have coverted them but I have all source files stored so I can offer the original files as source. Either I can burn it in that particular format or I can convert it for you directly from those files.
